Through our local businesses, my family and I have supported Sunny Kids on the Sunshine coast for over 10 years.  Sunny Kids are a local not for profit organisation who support our at risk kids and families on the Coast every day in numerous challenging situations. 

I was first introduced to the work of Sunny Kids through a dear friend David Larkin, who was at that time the Chaplain at Buderim Mountain State School.  Through Dave’s work, many situations came up for children and families that needed additional services that Chappy did not have the resources to address on his own – these would be varied but included DV support, Women’s refuge etc..  Dave was able to utilise the SunnyKids services to help these families immediately.  They have a highly skilled and able team who have supported individuals and families on many occasions where the school resources had been exhausted. 

I remember their slogan from many years ago that “every child deserves a chance….”  For me, addressing the needs of our kids and families on the Coast is critical and is I think, something all of our community should be passionate about and invested in. 

I would like to continue to honour this amazing organisation, their team and the incredible work they do for our community.  I will donate 10% of all  profits directly to them from any Sand & Land purchase to assist the team and the vital services they provide.
